While most of the spring mattresses on the market use only a single spring layer, the Shrunk Spring Mattress adopts a 2-layer configuration of a 1.4 mm spring microflex superimposed over the 1.7mm spring hard support. This "dual-power" construction is the characteristic of a high-end mattress and offers the possibility for retailers to carry out differentiated marketing without being drawn into cost competition with the low end.
