The biggest reason hotel buyers and mattress companies lose sales is when customers complain about partner disturbances. One of the main issues of a two-person or married couple who sleep in the same bed is that one partner's sleep is being disturbed. For example, when a person gets up, turns over, or moves while asleep, the movement is transmitted across the mattress, which usually makes his/her partner also awaken. Consequently, sleep quality goes down, the satisfaction with the product reduces, and this leads to more returns.
Primary cause: Most of the disturbance is from traditional bonnell or continuous coil systems, which are interconnected by their springs that transfer the motion.
The Way We Tackle It – Wrapped Coil Mattress
In each mattress a separate spring is covered with a nonwoven fabric pocket. The springs that are surrounded in these pocket springs can move independently. So, when one partner makes a movement, the only springs that compress are the ones right under his/her body - others lie dormant. As a consequence, the transmission of motion is decreased by >60% in comparison to standard coil systems.
Besides, there are 250–320 spring units per m² (higher density in the center third) and a 18cm pocket spring core in the construction that make the mattress less susceptible to sinking and support the body parts where necessary. The cooling gel-infused memory foam atop adds to pressure relief with no risk of heating of the skin.
